Alexandre St-Onge pragmatically captures the ungraspable and hermetic sounds that emerge through the creative process.
Vueien is the sonic translation of multiple performances generated by various pragmatic approach tactics to the ungraspable that testify to the emergence of monstrous voices and hermetic entities through the creative process. The ungraspable here operates to interrupt any signifying chain, continually introducing new objects, bodies, noises onto the scene. In Vueien we encounter such entities and their compositional gathering and mutation, as they crowd around, hide in the shadows, or disperse, suddenly—as they conspire to thwart any form of capture. Formless. Becoming.
Alexandre St-Onge is an audio artist, a musician/improviser (bass, voice and electronics) and a sonic performer. Philosophiae doctor (PhD) in art (UQAM, 2015), he is fascinated by creativity as a pragmatic approach to the ungraspable and he has released over ten solo albums including Vueien
(Errant Bodies Press
(Oral) and Kasi Naigo
(squintfuckerpress) amongst others. He founded squintfuckerpress with Christof Migone
and he plays in quite a few bands which released several albums, including Et Sans, K.A.N.T.N.A.G.A.N.O., Klaxon Gueule, Pink Saliva, mineminemine, Shalabi Effect, Les esprits frappeurs and undo.
