Ancholia

Alain Huck - Ancholia
Artist's book: a deconstruction of four monumental charcoal drawings, details of which are reproduced at the scale 1/1 and whose book offers a new reading.
Published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at Centre culturel suisse, Paris, from February to April 2012.
Co-founder of the M/2 space in Vevey, Huck (*1957) has participated in the dynamism of the Swiss artistic scene since the 1980s. His drawings are comparable with those of other European artists who refused the categorization of “abstract/figurative.” Over the last years Huck has been making cycles of works on paper, which are simultaneously anchored in his personal life and the reservoir of styles and forms available from the 20th century.
