Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh MatadinPretty Much Everything 1985-2010 – The Newspaper Collector's Edition

M/M (Paris) - Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin
A newspaper made of 25 double-sided posters with 25 photographs by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and 25 posters by M/M (Paris), with an essay by Michael Bracewell, celebrating Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin 25 years of work.
Designed by M/M (Paris), the Newspaper Collector's edition was released for the exhibition "Pretty Much Everything" at the Foam_Fotografiemuseum, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin's career. Seeing the retrospective as a news event, M/M (Paris) decided to create a newspaper. The 25 most influential photographs—one per year—were carefully selected to reflect the vast body of work. Among the works featured are Final Fantasy from the Wendy 25 series or Marcel from the Forest series. Also featured are 25 posters by M/M (Paris), including two exclusive productions: the Punctuation series, based on a selection of celebrity portraits by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, published in its entirety for the first time; and the Magic Sentence, a visual interpretation of the exhibition "The Now People Part II: Life on Earth", which the photographers held at Matthew Marks Gallery in 2005. A highly-anticipated essay by Michael Bracewell completes the publication. The Newspaper captures the inventive, dynamic and long-time collaboration between the photographers and M/M (Paris) at its very best.
Published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at Foam_Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam, from June to September 2010.
M/M (Paris) is a creative partnership between Mathias Augustyniak (born 1967 in Cavaillon) and Michael Amzalag (born 1968 in Paris), founded in 1992. Working within the framework of language and design, they practice across many cultural fields. Unfettered by the structures of disciplinary boundaries, these self-described artists perceive their professional title to be Strategic Creative Directors. From their Parisian studio, M/M has worked and developed strong relationships with musicians (Björk, Madonna, Jean-Louis Murat...); contemporary artists (Philippe Parreno, Pierre Huyghe, Liam Gillick, Sarah Morris, Gabriela Fridriksdottir, François Curlet, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster...); fashion designers (Yohji Yamamoto, Jil Sander, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Stella McCartney…); and magazines (Vogue Paris, i-D, Purple Fashion, Arena Homme+, Interview, Frog, eDEN, Stream, Documents sur l'art...); and with cultural institutions (Palais de Tokyo, Musée d'Art Moderne and Centre Pompidou in Paris, Le Consortium in Dijon, The Desde Foundation in Athens, the Serpentine Gallery in London…).
